Pamukkale with its white cotton travertines stretching to the horizon is one of the most visited tourist destinations of Turkey. Pamukkale provides a perfect combination of natural and man- made wonders with its ancient ruins of the spa town Hieralopis. Pamukkale is also in close location with Laodicea one of the seven churches of revelation and Colossae.
Itinerary
Day 1- Take the early flight to Denizli Cardak Airport. Your private guide will meet you at the Airport and your first short stop will to the Ancient City of Colossae which is located 25 kilometers east of Denizli province. The city lived its heydays during the Persian rule between 06th – 04th centuries BC but later lost its importance after the foundations of Hierapolis and Laodicea. So far no excavations have been carried out in Colossae. There are just very few remains from the ancient city, such as the acropolis on the hilltop. Then you will continue to Ancient City of Laodicea Ancient which contains was one of the early centers of Christianity. The church was established in the Apostolic Age, the earliest period of Christianity, and is probably best known for being one of the Seven churches of Asia one of the Seven Churches of revelation. Now, excavations and restoration projects are being carefully carried out thus revealing the history and importance of the site. You will see Zeus Temple, Theater, Church, Monumental Fountain , Odeon, Imperial Cult , Caracalla Fountain, Syria Avenue , Gymnasium and Stadium. After the this you will drive to Pamukkale and settle Spa Hotel.
Day 2- After breakfast in the hotel enjoy the white travertines and the turquoise thermal pools of Pamukkale. You are not allowed to bath there however can walk in one of -a -kind natural wonder without your shoes. The warmth of the water is not the only appealing aspect of these thermal pools ,equally as attractive is the striking contrast between the glistening pools and the travertine—a type of white limestone deposited by thermal waters—that makes up the surrounding mountains. Hierapolis Ancient City and Pamukkale Travertines are not located separately from each other. On the contrary, they are all together that you can visit both of them at once. You will see the Ancient Theatre which is one of the most beautiful theatres of the region, Necropolis, An active Roman Pool, large Bath Comlex, Agora , Northern & Southern Byzantine Gates, Gymnasium, Triton Fountain Building, Ionic Column Headed House , fragments of Latrina, Apollon Sanctuary , Plutonium, Cathedral and the Hierapolis museum.
In the late afternoon transfer to Denizli Cardak Airport and fly back to Istanbul.
